Alina Samuels will discuss “Samuel Taylor Coleridge: A Study of Imagination.”

John Gallagher will present his findings on “Determining the Resulting Force of the Drive Leg and Foot on the Pitching Rubber during the Baseball Pitching Motion.”

Leslie Chang will talk about “Neuroplasticity and Alzheimer's Disease.”

They will be joined by more than 200 fellow students at the 13th annual Charles Proteus Steinmetz Symposium on students' creative, scholarly and research achievement on Friday, May 9, and Saturday, May 10.

The symposium will include concurrent sessions for oral presentations, posters, performances, and art exhibits. Most sessions will be held on Friday and classes will be cancelled as appropriate to allow all students to attend Steinmetz sessions.

Presentations will be held in Humanities, Social Sciences, Arts Building, Steinmetz, Science & Engineering, and the Olin Center. Copies of the schedule, which appears on the web, will be available in the Dean's Office, S-100, Science & Engineering Building.

Dance performances will be during Session III on May 9 in the Dance Studio of the Arts Building. Student art work will be exhibited throughout the weekend in the Arts Atrium of the Arts Building. Poster sessions will be May 10 in the Nott Memorial.

The Choir and Orchestra will perform Friday, May 9, from 8:30 to 9:15 p.m. in Memorial Chapel. The Jazz Ensemble will perform on Saturday, May 10, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in Dutch Hollow.

All presenters, faculty sponsors, and faculty moderators are invited to a banquet in Upper Class Dining at 6:30 p.m. following the last session on Friday, May 10. Students may invite parents or other guests to the banquet for an additional charge of $12 per guest. A vegetarian meal will be available.
