Justin Sievert

The track and field resumes of senior Justin Sievert's (Wyoming, MI/ New Paltz (NY) and junior Sean Washington (Dale City, VA/ St. Stephens) continue to grow…impressively. Sievert, who already holds most of the UCAA, New York State and Union College records in the shot put and discus, was named the “Most Valuable Field Performer” of last weekend's New York State championships, which were held at St. Lawrence.

Sievert not only captured state titles in the shot and discus, he qualified for the NCAA meet in both. Two weeks ago, Sievert competed against some the country's top Division I athletes in the Penn Relays and brought home a second place finish in the shot.

Sean Washington

Washington, who earned All-American honors with this sixth-place finish at the NCAA Indoor championships, won the New York State crown in the 100 meter dash.

The Dutchmen finished 8th out of 15 teams at the state meet

Justin Sievert won the State Championship in the shot put
with an NCAA qualifying throw of 16.63.

Justin Sievert also won the State Championship in the Discus
with an NCAA qualifying throw of.48.14.

Justin was named the event's
Most Outstanding Field Athlete Award.

Sean Washington won the State Championship in the 100
meter dash with an ECAC qualifying time of 11.07. He finished 9th in the 200 with a 23:11.
