Senior linebacker, Mike Ranfone, was named the winner of this year's Ronald F. Plumb Memorial Award.
The award is presented to the senior member of the varsity football team who best exemplifies the qualities and characteristics of Ronald F. Plumb, Class of 1980.

A three-year starter for the Dutchmen, Ranfone finished his career fifth on the Dutchmen's all-time tackle chart with 249 (118 first hits and 131 assists). A member of the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association's All-Conference team throughout his brilliant career, Ranfone also qualified for the UCAA's All-Academic team by
maintaining at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average. He has a double major of economics and psychology. A native of Branford, Connecticut, and a graduate of Hamden Hall, Ranfone was co-captain of the 2002 defensive unit. His career statistics also include five quarterback sacks, 13 pass deflections, five fumble recoveries and five forced fumbles.
