Union senior defensewoman Orly Amir and sophomore forward Lisa Schulkind were selected to the
Jewish Sports Review's 2003 All-American Women's All-American Ice Hockey team. Amir was a first-team selection while Schulkind earned honorable mention status.
Amir was one of three defensive players selected to the six-player team. She scored three goals and 11 points from her defensive position and will graduate as the only player to have been a part of all four of Union's varsity seasons. A member of the Eastern College Athletic Conference's All-Academic team and one of six Union players selected to the American Women's Hockey Coaches Association's Scholar Athlete All-American Team, Amir also provided the young Dutchwomen (only three seniors) with a calming leadership that helped the team establish a program record for wins in a season (11) while establishing their first winning campaign among their ECAC counterparts at 10-9-1.
Amir, who spent the fall term of her junior year studying in Brazil, is a native of Plainsboro, New Jersey, and a graduate of West Windsor-Plainsboro. She is a political science major at Union.
