Junior football and track standout, Sean Washington, captured the William A. Pike Memorial Trophy.
The trophy is presented to a junior male athlete for attitude, ability, participation, and achievement in intercollegiate sports.

Washington, a native of Dale City, Virginia, and a graduate of St. Stephen's High School, is a tailback for the football team and a sprinter for the indoor and outdoor track teams. This past winter Washington earned All-American status by finishing fifth in the 100 meter dash with a Union-record time of 6.47.

Washington, who missed his entire freshman football season after suffering a broken leg in preseason, has been among the Dutchmen's leading receivers and kick returners the last two years.

A managerial economics major, Washington was the recipient of the 2002 Sophomore Athletic Award as Union's “Outstanding Sophomore Male Athlete of they Year.”
