The just-published Encyclopedia of Union College History is a fascinating survey of the first college chartered by the New York Board of Regents.
Instead of a traditional continuous narrative, it presents more than 800 articles on subjects ranging from the curriculum to campus dogs. The encyclopedia's 54 contributors and its editor, Wayne Somers '61, based the volume on 10 years of archival research.
The Encyclopedia of Union College History (ISBN
0-912756-31-4) is available from the Union College Bookstore for $35.
