Wilfried Wilms, assistant professor of German, presented a paper at
this year's 20th Century Literature Conference in Louisville,
Ky. The paper, “Negative Apophasis: The
'Indescribable' Ruins of Postwar Germany,” investigated rhetorical strategies
in Allied war reporting on the bombing war, focusing primarily on Martha Gellhorn and Janet Flanner.
