Hepled the Dutchmen qualify for the ECAC Invitational
By virtue of their performances
at the New York State championships, the women's and men's crew teams earned
their first-ever postseason berths when they were tapped to participate in the
ECAC National Invitational Collegiate Regatta.
The Dutchwomen, whose
Varsity 4+ team consisted of: c-Liz O'Connell (junior – Brooklyn, NY), s-Shanna Theriault
(senior – Queensbury, NY), 3-Lindsey Gish (senior – Smithtown, NY), 2-Ali
Stoyan (sophomore – Liverpool, NY), andÂ
b-Carrie Dancy (junior – Concord, NH), finished fourth among 18 teams
and missed the Bronze Medal by three-tenths of a second.
The
Dutchmen, whose Varsity 4+ team consisted of: c-Manny Rojas (freshman –
Bayside, NY), s-Brett Durie (senior – Cobleskill, NY), 3-Brad Coyman (senior –
Watertown, NY), 2-Jon Menz (senior – Colton, NY), and b-Tristan Beeble
(freshman – Cohoes, NY), placed ninth among 18 teams.
Union's
women finished first in the state meet while the men placed fifth.
