SCHENECTADY, N.Y.–The men's soccer team will be the first
to play on the new turf field located at the site of the old Ramada Inn. The Dutchwomen will take on St. Joseph's of
Maine at noon. The game was originally
scheduled to be played on Garis Field.
“We are looking forward to
playing there,” said head coach Jeff Guinn, whose team takes a 6-6 record
into the contest. “We have
practiced there several times. The turf
is much softer than the one on Bailey Field and should provide us with
excellent game conditions, especially if we get all the rain that is
expected.”
The Dutchmen, who are 2-2 in the
Liberty League, will host conference rivals Vassar and Rensselaer next Friday
and Saturday, respectively. Those games
are scheduled to be played on Garis Field.
