Just two days after students
launched the tsunami relief effort, organizers were reporting that they had
raised more than $6,000 toward their goal of $10,000.
Through Monday, Jan. 10, students
are running donation tables in Reamer
Campus Center
and West Dining Hall.
“We are thrilled to report that in
the first two days we have already managed to collect $6,100 and our goal is
$10,000,” said Sheel Patel '07.
All donations will be presented
from the College to the American Red Cross for their relief effort in the
region between Somalia and Thailand,
where more than 150,000 lost their lives in late December.
“We hope to achieve our goal of
$10,000 soon, but we need everyone's help,” Patel said. “Even a small gift can
go a long way.”
