Faculty, staff and students will find a number of new safety initiatives in place as the school year begins.
These include a permanent after-hours Campus Safety presence on the corridor between campus and College Park Hall, a second trolley run and a more visible Campus Safety presence.
Dean of Students Steve Leavitt has notified members of the campus community about how to access important safety information.
“We are furnishing information that we believe will help the campus community become active participants in ensuring personal safety and security,” said Leavitt. “We feel strongly that an informed community is an essential part of a comprehensive safety and security program.”
A Web site, http://www.union.edu/personalsafety, will serve as the College's center for safety announcements. Hard copy and voicemail communications also will be used.
