Christopher Myers, Eliphalet Nott Society

CHRISTOPHER  MYERS, real estate developer

Myers is owner of the Parker Inn in downtown Schenectady and a principal of Concord Development LLC and the Quantum Development Group. Quantum recently purchased and plans to renovate the former MVP Health Care headquarters in Schenectady for high-tech business tenants. The company has also announced plans to build housing in several Schenectady neighborhoods, the first significant residential construction in decades.

“I've been involved in ENS for a year. I'm a strong supporter of Union and of Schenectady, and I believe what's good for one is good for the other. ENS is a creative way to get alumni and others, like me, involved in the school. I never went to college. I'm a Schenectady native who's taken Union as my adopted college. Many ENS members are from New York City and Boston, and it's a tremendous networking opportunity.

“We use the funds donated by members to establish and grow a venture capital firm. We help Union grads and Schenectady startups, and we decide if we want to invest in other startups. Ultimately, the goal is to grow Union's endowment, intended for scholarships, faculty support and the College's physical plant. Essentially, ENS is a fun, interesting way to give back to the College.”
