Faculty and staff helped welcome a total of 830 guests – including 370 prospective students – over two sun-splashed Mondays this month, when the campus couldn't have looked more perfect.
“Thanks for rolling out the red carpet and offering a big Union welcome on these crucial yield days,” said Lilia Tiemann of Admissions, who coordinated the successful Accepted Students Days.
Dan Lundquist, vice president for Admissions, will share details on the Class of 2010 as the May 1 reply date nears.
In the meantime, reviews from participants – before, during and after their visits – were excellent.
In an email to Admissions, one couple raved about their son's “pleasant, welcoming first step in life as a Union College student via the College's chat room for new admits.”
They added: “We have been to the campus on two fall 2005 Saturday visits and the fall Open House for prospective students. We are all quite impressed with the incredible interaction with the staff at Union, and couldn't be happier with (his) choice of schools!”
One student from Ellington, Conn, in congratulating her peers, was clearly happy the wait was over: “Doesn't it feel so amazing to be getting the happy acceptance letters? Makes the annoying process of applications almost seem worth it.”
And keep this in mind: The Admissions staff is already on the road recruiting the Class of 2011.
