Kurt Hollocher, professor of geology, and two students presented general session poster papers at the Northeastern Section Meeting of the Geological Society of America in March. Chris Kassel '06 presented “Holocene Proxy Records of Hydrologic Variability From Two Carbonate Lakes, Cordillera Huayhuash, Peru.” Michael Rubinchuk '06 and Hollocher presented “Multiple Episodes of Magmatism, Deformation and Metamorphism in The Green Mountain Massif at Stratton Mountain, Vermont: A One-Outcrop Field Trip.”
“Both students prepared professional quality 8' by 3' posters,” Hollocher said. “The papers were well received and the students got a lot of favorable comment. Their scientific and social contributions to the meeting were a credit to Union College.”
