Submissions encouraged for research journal

Faculty members who have had a peer-reviewed research or scholarly publication with undergraduate student co-authors in the past six months are urged to submit a description of the article for the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) Quarterly. Inclusion in the journal helps increase the visibility of scholarly activity involving undergraduates. For guidelines and information, contact Mary Carroll, director of Undergraduate Research, at carrollm@union.edu.

Anderson co-authors publications

Janet S. Anderson, professor of Chemistry, recently co-authored two publications with collaborators David LeMaster and Griselda Hernández at the Wadsworth Center, New York State Department of Health. The citations are: “Tetrathiolate Coordination of Germanium (IV) in a Protein Active Site” (also with Michael Minnich and Patrick J. Parsons), and “Role of Native-State Structure in Rubredoxin Native-State Hydrogen Exchange.”

Martin co-authors book

Raymond Martin, chair and professor of the Philosophy, has co-authored, with John Barresi, “The Rise and Fall of Soul and Self: An Intellectual History of Personal Identity.” (Columbia University Press, 2006). He was interviewed on KQED Forum, a public radio show based in San Franscisco, during an hour-long Q&A session.
