Several “firsts” are on tap at Homecoming & Family Weekend this year, including a welcome reception by President Stephen Ainlay for families of students and alumni; the kickoff of an alumni writers' series with literary luminary Andrea Barrett ‘74; and a student-organized “Tie the Nott” fundraiser for breast cancer awareness.
It all happens Oct. 13-15, when some 2,600 visitors are expected on campus for these and other exciting events and festivities.
“It's going to be a great weekend that brings together the Union family,” said Nick Famulare '92, director of Alumni Relations.
Mark your calendars now for the host of receptions, tours, talks, panels, picnics, brunches, dinners, celebrations, music and, of course, spectacular sports.
Among the traditional Homecoming favorites are a Parents Association meeting, Alumni Council Meeting, Terrace Council Reception, pre-game tailgate picnic and family carnival, harvest dinner, several open houses, and campus and city tours.
On Saturday evening, “Young Alumni: Celebrate the Tradition,” with music by Bluz House Rockers, will be held at College Park Hall to benefit the Annual Fund.
