Daniel O. Mosquera, associate professor of Spanish and Latin American Studies, had two documentaries he directed and produced shown on Colombian television. “¿San Pacho, Para Quién” (2003-06) and “San Pacho es P'al Que lo Goce” (2006), explore the link between popular religion, state and insurgent violence, and local politics as manifest in the Afro-descendent feast honoring Saint Francis of Assisi in Quibdó, Chocó (Colombia). The documentaries will continue to be shown throughout the year on six national and regional channels.
