This term's LGBT Ally training, open to all faculty, administrators and staff, will be held Monday, March 5, 5-6:30 p.m. in Reamer Campus Center Room 203. The Ally program helps provide safe spaces for members of the campus lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community by identifying personnel who can offer support and information. “We hope the program will increase the levels of tolerance and acceptance of this ‘invisible' form of diversity on the Union campus,” says Sarah Boone, assistant director for Minerva Programs. Interested in attending? E-mail Boone at boones@union.edu or Kerrie Wolf, assistant director of Student Activities, at wolfk@union.edu. Boone notes that while it is not a requirement to become an Ally after training is completed, training is a requirement to become an Ally. For more information, visit www.union.edu/lgbtallies.
