SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — The Union College class of 2011 descends on campus. Sunday was the official move-in day for the 564 freshmen.
The campus was packed with students and their parents unloading their lives into what will be their new world for the next few years.
An emotional day for both students and parents alike, many, doing the college drop off for the first time. An orientation group was on hand making sure things went smoothly.
"We are moving in the freshmen today and over the next three days we are going to meet with freshmen in groups of 8 to 16 and just go over school policies and just make sure they're really comfortable at Union," said Union senior Ashley Braniecki.
For the first time in school history, there are more female students than males in the incoming class.
Classes officially start Wednesday.
