Collegiate a cappella groups from across New York state will perform with Union’s Garnet Minstrelles, Dutch Pipers and the Eliphalets, the College’s new co-ed a cappella group, for the annual Thruway Concert Saturday, April 19 at 3 p.m. in the Nott Memorial.
This event is free and open to the public.
The Thruway Concert began as an intercollegiate a cappella festival that brought together groups from colleges along the Thruway. Today, colleges throughout the Northeast attend including this year’s participants from SUNY Oneonta, Lafayette College and the Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
“The concert is a non-competitive way of learning from each other and celebrating the hard work of each respective group,” said Kristin Hissong ’08, co-organizer of this year’s event with Brandon McArdle ’09 and Gabe Harris '09.
The concert is co-sponsored by U-Program, Dutch Pipers and the Garnet Minstrelles.
