The application deadline for the 2008-2009 Future Professors Program is Wednesday, March 12, 4 p.m.
The program, designed to recruit students who might not otherwise have considered a career in academia, is administered by Kristin Fox, director of Undergraduate Research, and Trish Williams, senior associate dean of students. It involves students in summer and senior-year research projects, teaching and professional development, including participation in the Steinmetz Symposium.
“Participation in this program gives students insight into the academic profession and, we hope, has an impact on their goals and plans for the future,” Fox said. “An eligible student may contact you to serve as a mentor or to ask for a recommendation. And please feel free to initiate a discussion about the program with any student you know who might benefit from it.”
