The 3D PRINTING focus area introduces students to additive manufacturing techniques including fused deposition modeling (FDM), stereolithography (SLA), and other emerging technologies. They develop skills in digital modeling, slicing software, printer operation, and material selection. Students are encouraged to iterate rapidly, troubleshoot problems, and understand the real-world constraints of digital-to-physical workflows.

You are able to advance through tiered training from an Assistant to a Specialist and then a Lab Coordinator. The associated “Roles, Responsibilities and Opportunities” are below.
