About the Laser Cutting Lab

The Laser Cutting Lab is in the Feigenbaum Visual Arts Center in the Digital Arts Studio Room 118. The Laser Lab is available to all students and faculty at Union College. Please feel free to stop by the Lab any time during our open hours to ask questions, see the space or submit a cut. In addition to that you can also simply submit cuts with the submission form below. The Laser Cutter is a Full Spectrum Laser, P2416+. It’s a 90 watt class IV laser that can cut materials as large as 22″ x 14″. The machine can cut and etch a variety of materials including but not limited to basswood, paper, acrylic, chipboard and 1/8″ plywood. For a full list of acceptable materials see the guide below. It is not necessary to visit the Lab to make use of the laser cutter but please feel free to stop by the Lab during our open hours to see the space and ask any questions or make a cut! In order to make use the laser cutter please submit a request for a cut below or submit an inquiry if you have any questions.
