The DIGITAL FABRICATION focus area introduces students to laser cutting, CNC routing, vinyl cutting, and hybrid digital workflows. Students gain experience translating vector-based designs and 3D models into precisely fabricated parts using a variety of digital tools. Emphasis is placed on design for manufacturing, file preparation, machine operation, and safe, efficient fabrication practices.

You are able to advance through tiered training from an Assistant to a Specialist and then a Lab Coordinator. The associated “Roles, Responsibilities and Opportunities” are below.
