This show represents a web of collaboration among a number of departments and scholars at Union, including the Mandeville Gallery, the Union College Permanent Collection, the Visual Arts Department, and the Special Collections of Schaffer Library.
This exhibition takes as its source the weapon as object and as idea in order to explore the complexities of human aggression. Weapons are attention-grabbing objects often designed with both aesthetics and damage capability in mind.

William James Stillman was born in Schenectady, NY in 1828. He attended Union College, graduating in 1848. Stillman became an artist, a diplomat, and an influential art critic. In 1869 he traveled to Athens and took a series of photographs which he published in a folio called The Acropolis of Athens. (1870)
Students from Albany, Schenectady and Rensselear Counties participated in the 7th Annual High School Regional Art Exhibit, sponsored by Union College.
The exhibition Charles Steckler: Stage Design presents photographs, models, sketches, and props from over thirty years of the designer’s work. Exhibiting these artifacts in a gallery setting emphasizes their visual artistry and strength as aesthetic objects.
