Emerson Music Hall in Taylor Music Center on Union’s main campus

A performance by Eileen Egan Mack

From the wilderness of the Great North Woods and the hardscrabble life of its settlers to the cities of Europe and New York City’s cosmopolitan life in the early 20th century, Jeanne Robert Foster  was at home and fully immersed in her surroundings. Jeanne is a woman whose life and writings are honored by this show.

Singer and actress Eileen Egan Mack in her portrayal of this ‘Renaissance woman’ will share readings, stories and songs revealing life in 19th century Adirondacks and Jeanne’s neighbors of yesterday. While much of women’s roles has been hidden behind the scrim of history’s stage, this program is an opportunity to share Jeanne’s light and life in her beloved mountains and her life as she “set her feet to far off roads.”

Be prepared to take a journey back in time.
