Winter is here and its time to get outside to enjoy the snow and cold! Union alum Michael Newell ‘74 will present this ZOOM webinar covering winter preparedness, staying safe, and how to practice Leave N0 Trace principles in winter; Plan and Prepare, Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces, Waste Disposal, Respecting Wildlife, and Consideration for Others.

Michael has been a NYS Licensed Guide (#1018) since 1991. Michael is a New York State Outdoor Guides Association (NYSOGA) Master Guide and serves on NYSOGA’s Board of Directors, where he has held several leadership positions, including President (94-95). Michael is a Leave No Trace Master Educator, a certified NYS DEC Search and Rescue Volunteer, and a member of the Lower Adirondack Search and Rescue organization.
