The Kelly Adirondack Center is adjacent to the Hudson-Mohawk Bird Club’s 111 acre Henry G. Reist Wildlife Sanctuary, which has miles of winding trails. You can access the Sanctuary from the KAC parking lot at 897 St. David’s Lane.
Before you go, take a look at the Reist Sanctuary Field Guide, which includes the history of the Sanctuary, a trail map, and explanations of the 21 numbered sign posts along the trails. On a warm spring day you might be treated to a chorus of wood frogs coming from one of the vernal ponds. One word of caution: the trails cross several marshy areas and can be muddy during wet weather. Be prepared.
