In a resounding victory for wilderness, the New York Court of Appeals recently issued a historic decision on the construction of snowmobile trails in the Forest Preserve. Established by the New York legislature in 1885 and protected by the state constitution since 1895, the Forest Preserve is the East’s last great wilderness. What does this decision mean?
