A discussion with Mary Jane Watson and David Gibson

That’s not an expletive, it’s a structure that has meant habitat destruction, good jobs, conservation activism, and electricity. Two rivers in the Adirondacks present case studies of different outcomes.

Mary Jane Watson, a historian in Colton, will speak from her involvement in the Raquette River Oral History Project about the “most dammed river in the state.” David Gibson, of the preservation group Adirondack Wild, will speak of Schenectady’s own Paul Schaefer and his mobilization of the public to prevent dams on the Moose River.
