There are always some puzzling things. Why won’t the XRD doors open? Why is the XRD box dark? How do I know if the X-ray tube is off? The universe is filled with such vexing questions.
Be sure you are in the XRD measurement tab.
Door lock: Click the Home menu, and the Door Lock On/Off icon. Each click, the door lock changes state, from Off to On, and back. It takes a few seconds for the lock to actually open or close.
Lights: Click the Home menu, and the Light On/Off icon. Each click, the light changes from Off to On, and back.
X-ray tube, etc.: Click the Home menu, and the H/W Status icon. The hardware status window will open, showing lots of hardware variables, including the tube voltage and current, the positions of various moving parts, the installed slits, and cooling water flow.
