Typically, the index page for your category of posts lists them in reverse chronological order, with the most recent one entered being first on the list.

Publish-change dateYou can change the order by changing the date of the post. Be careful!  It can get confusing if you have a lot of posts, and sometimes the way to find things in your site is by date, so if you change the date it might be harder to find.

To change the date, just go to your post in edit mode. In the upper right corner is a section called Publish, and one of the items in the box is Published on: (date) where you can just change the date.

THE EASIER WAY!

The easier way to do it is to click & drag the post to the order that you want. This way, your publish date stays the same so it’s easier to keep track of your posts.

  • Go to Dashboard | Posts | All Posts
  • Filter for a specific category by clicking on the All Categories button and then click on the Filter button at the top of the page. That will give you a list of only the posts in the category you chose.
  • Hover your mouse over the post you want to move until your cursor become a crosshair   cursor-crosshair   and then you can click and drag the post up or down to your preferred position.

Don’t forget to click the Update button to save your changes  . update-button
